About Angela Yarber
Rev. Dr. Angela Yarber has been an artist, dancer, scholar, and clergywoman since 1999. She holds a Ph.D. in Art and Religion from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley and she is author of five books that address the intersections among the arts, religion/spirituality, and gender/sexuality. One of her books, "Holy Women Icons," features nearly 50 color images of her Holy Women Icon paintings, and an essay describing the woman portrayed accompanies each image. She paints, teaches, preaches, and lives for justice, peace, and beauty for all creation. She also leads retreats, workshops, conferences, lectures, sermons, and other events related to her Holy Women Icons project. She is an ordained Baptist minister, an adjunct professor of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, the wife of Elizabeth, and mother of Riah.
